Plagiarism Policy
JPIK – Jurnal Pendidikan Islam dan Studi Keislaman strictly prohibits any form of plagiarism. Plagiarism involves the uncredited use of someone else's work, words, or ideas, presenting them as one's own. This includes self-plagiarism (reusing one's own previous work without citation).
Screening Process All manuscripts submitted to JPIK will be screened for plagiarism using Turnitin or other plagiarism detection software to ensure their originality before being sent to the reviewers. The editorial team performs this check at the initial submission stage.
Similarity Threshold The maximum similarity rate allowed for a manuscript is 20%.
-
Below 20%: The manuscript will proceed to the review process.
-
Above 20%: The manuscript will be returned to the author for revision (to paraphrase and reduce the similarity) or rejected immediately, depending on the severity of the plagiarism.
Sanctions If plagiarism is detected during any stage of the publication process:
-
Pre-publication: The manuscript will be rejected.
-
Post-publication: If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article will be retracted, and a retraction note will be published.
