Peer Review Process
Every manuscript submitted to JPIK – Jurnal Pendidikan Islam dan Studi Keislaman is independently reviewed by at least two peer reviewers. The decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based upon their reports/recommendations. In certain cases, the editor may submit an article for review to another third reviewer before making a decision, if necessary.
The review process follows these steps:
-
Desk Review (Pre-Review): Upon receiving a manuscript, the Editor in Chief or Section Editor will conduct an initial check to ensure the manuscript adheres to the Focus and Scope of the journal and follows the Author Guidelines. The editor will also check for plagiarism/similarity. Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements or are outside the journal's scope will be rejected at this stage without being sent to reviewers.
-
Double-Blind Peer Review: If the manuscript passes the Desk Review, it will be assigned to at least two reviewers. JPIK uses a Double-Blind Peer Review policy, which means the identities of the authors are concealed from the reviewers, and the identities of the reviewers are concealed from the authors. This ensures an objective and unbiased assessment.
