BEMA Journal of Business, Economics, Management, and Accounting applies a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of all published articles. The journal uses a double-blind peer review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.

1. Initial Manuscript Evaluation

Upon submission, each manuscript is first evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor to determine its suitability with the journal’s focus and scope, compliance with author guidelines, and overall academic quality. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s basic requirements may be rejected at this stage without external review.

2. Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using appropriate plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with indications of plagiarism, redundant publication, or unethical research practices will be rejected or returned to the authors for clarification or revision.

3. Peer Review Process

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, relevance, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and contribution to knowledge in business, economics, management, and accounting.

Reviewers are requested to provide constructive and objective feedback and to recommend one of the following decisions:

  • Accept

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions)

  • Reject

4. Reviewer Confidentiality and Ethics

All manuscripts received for review are treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not disclose any information about the manuscript or use its content for personal advantage. Reviewers are also required to declare any potential conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment.

5. Editorial Decision

The final decision regarding manuscript acceptance is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers’ reports and recommendations. The editor may seek additional reviews if necessary. The editorial decision is communicated to the authors along with the reviewers’ comments.

6. Revision and Resubmission

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts in accordance with the reviewers’ comments and submit a revised version within the specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation if deemed necessary.

7. Publication Process

Once a manuscript is accepted, it proceeds to the copyediting, layout, and proofreading stages before final publication. The published article will be made available online in accordance with the journal’s open access policy.

BEMA Journal of Business, Economics, Management, and Accounting is committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and academic excellence throughout the peer review process.
